Holiday Inn Northampton West, part of the Splendid Hospitality Group’s growing portfolio, is currently undergoing a huge transformation to add 13 bedrooms and create a new open lobby concept for the reception area. With work already underway for a winter reopening, the hotel’s new General Manager, Seb Waring, let’s us in on his thoughts so far:
“The last two weeks have seen some tremendous changes within the hotel. The new open lobby space has now been created – in the most destructive way possible! Seeing walls and ceilings come down was such a shock, but now as we approach the end of week three, we are seeing the creation of new walls to start the formation of the new spaces. The supports for the ceilings have gone in and are now ready and waiting to be boarded. The electricians have been hard at work over the period laying all the new cabling for the new sockets, WiFi and all the hotel support systems.
There has also been tremendous change in the bedrooms over the last week with the new shower trays and baths being fitted. I have tried to stay away from the rooms as long as I can between visits to really appreciate the difference that is being made. It was a big surprise today to walk into one of the rooms to see that the floors in the bathrooms are being laid by the tilers, while the painters and decorators are busy in the first few rooms applying the paint work in the bedrooms. It has been so pleasing to see what a difference the new colour scheme in the bedrooms will make with this brighter and fresher offering.”
Set in attractive gardens in the countryside village of Flore, the friendly Holiday Inn Northampton West is just 1 minute from junction 16 of the M1.
