York – Light up your life
Celebrate longer nights with a trip to The Illuminating Light Festival (26 – 29 October), which will see the some of the city’s most iconic buildings lit up. Key attractions include: The York Minster, York St John, the National Railway Museum and the Bunny Light Trail. The illumination will be done by the same team that were in charge of the Shard for New Year’s Eve.

Bristol – Creep around
Join Haunted and Hidden Ghost walks and creep around Bristol which has been a major city and port for over 800 years. Visit some of the city’s spookiest locations and listen to some of the scariest ghost stories. Highlights include a visit to Bristol’s famous haunted cinema and an amazing 16th Century haunted house. The 90-minute tour departs Bristol Cathedral, College Green every Friday night, bar a few exceptions and is priced at £5 per person.

London – Skate till late
Get your skates on and head down to the Natural History Museum’s open air ice rink which opens on the 27 October 2016. Situated in front of the museum, the ice rink will be decorated with sparkling fairy lights. After some twists and spins, warm up with a drink at the museum’s Café Bar, with views over the ice rink. Open between 10am and 10pm tickets are priced at £12.65 per adult and £8.80 per a child.
